Covid-19 Update...what are we doing at HCR

These are very tough times for people not only here in the UK but on a global scale. So far the government has implemented many great schemes that will help businesses and the general public to get through this very tough time. We hope that our coffee too can help to bring some postive energy to your day while you are stuck at home. It's the little things in life that we perhaps need now more than ever before!

UPDATE 04/04/2020

In order to provide a better delivery service we've implemented a few changes. All orders over £10 in value will now always be sent using a tracked service. Due to increased pressure on Royal Mail we found that many customers were having to wait up to 8 days to receive orders sent out using the RM24 service. Royal Mail suggested we switch our orders to the RM48 tracked service as this takes priority and will increase the success rate resulting in a quicker average overall delivery time. This also means that any orders of £10 in value can be easily tracked after purchasing. 

If you'd like to receive your order a bit sooner you can select the RM24 Tracked option at checkout and this options costs £4.80 for orders under £15 in value and costs just £1 for orders of £15 or more. Upgrades to DPD are also available including the option to select pre 12.

Orders under £10 in value will now be sent using RM48 with options to upgrade to tracked services. 

We are open for online orders!

With this in mind we continue to stay open to fulfil online orders for our customers. We have scaled back staffing at the roastery to ensure that true social distancing takes places. I will continue to run the roastery and Amelia and I will make sure we do this for as long as possible. For us the roastery is an extension of our home and is just a 10 min drive from where we live.

We've worked incredibly hard over the years to build this business and we've developed some incredible connections with coffee producers around the world. We need to continue to roast and sell their coffee to ensure they have an outlet for the incredible product they produce. The global slow down in trade as a result of the impact of the virus is likely to be very damaging to some of the most vulnerable coffee producing communities around the world. It's not just the virus that can hurt but also the lack of trade resulting in terrible financial hardship. 

I will do my best to ensure that all orders placed before 9am are still sent out on the same day (that might be tough on Monday but we aim to be in on the weekends too if needed).
