Coffee Info
Tasting Notes: Red Apple | Caramel | Chocolate
Processing Method: Honey
Varietal: Catuai
Importer: Horsham Coffee Roaster / IAC
On The Farm: La Cumbre

The Producer
La Cumbre
La Cumbre wet mill is owned by Minor and Nancy Jimenez. Dedicated to producing fantastic coffee by working with an excellent team of harvesters dedicated to delivering high-quality coffee cherry from Catui, Caturra and Centroamericano varietal trees.
Coffee Origin
Costa Rica 🇨🇷
Costa Rican farmers are known for their tendency to experiment with various post harvest processing method and for planting rare and interesting coffees, such as SL-28 and Geisha. We've been buying our Costa Rican coffees direct from the same producers for several years with the help of Selva coffee.
Processing Method
Honey
The honey process is a middle ground where the skin is removed, but some “mucilage” (the sticky fruit without the skin) is left on the bean during drying. This process bridges the gap between the clarity of a washed coffee and the body of a natural.
Coffee Varietal
Catuai
Developed in Brazil in the 1950s and 60s through a cross between Mundo Novo and Caturra, Catuai was bred for productivity and resilience in harsh weather conditions. It produces compact plants that bear fruit prolifically, making it a practical choice for farmers. While its cup quality is solid and reliable – often displaying a clean, mild sweetness – it rarely reaches the complex heights of older heirloom varietals.

It's very good to have an organic blend to drink, its slightly smokey and caramel nose and easy chocolatey taste make each cup a delight, not 100% its better ground in a grinder or basic blender, but who cares, its delicious
The best coffee
Fantastic coffee blend. One of my favourites.
Very friendly system to order coffee. Smooth and quick delivery.
Beautiful coffee and super company
Great coffee. I have bought coffee from these guys consistently for 2 years now. Always tasty and I like how they are constantly bringing out different roasts to try.
I bought 2 beans this co-operative and the Elzer Garcia, I really didnt like Garcia but this Co-operative beans are one of the best I have ever tried, would highly recommend.
Solid and consistent coffee. Well balanced. Great everyday beans!
Cooperative
Horsham’s Cooperative Coffee Beans are a great example of thoughtful sourcing and careful roasting. The cup is clean, sweet, and well‑balanced, with gentle fruit notes and a smooth finish that works beautifully across brew methods. A reliable, everyday coffee with real character.
Very smooth & ever so slight sweetness to it. Only had in a Flat White so far, but goes really well with it.
One of the best coffees i have ever tasted
On the darker side for my taste but delicious!

Well packaged

Good value but the taste wasn’t as good as the nova but maybe you it will suit your tastes better- give it a go
You might like to inject a little enthusiasm and helpfulness into the lady on the Horsham market stall today, Saturday 14th February. Total disinterest other than a reply to a question about the strength of the coffee. She advised it is all about one shot or two. I now see on your website that this is a medium roast. This is the information I was after. She is letting you down.
After trying this coffee we absolutely loved it. Delicious aromas of chocolate coming out of the cup.
Quite variable. I usually like this coffee for more for the presence of it's "Apple" notes. I like those coffees that grind at least a bit towards the golden end, which this usually does. The apple notes on this last occasion are only present by comparison with what I group together as the smokier darker coffees, they are not really present enough to be relished this time. On other batches I would have rated this as 4.5 stars. Its still a good coffee but I'm contemplating ordering just 250g next time to see if this is how it's now settled.
I wouldn't know if this is a roasting choice issue or a bean attribute issue.
Pleased with the depth of flavour
Quick delivery, well packed, relatively inexpensive, however...
the espresso grind is a little too course for my Gaggia Classic 2019
Delicious coffee
Perfectly roasted and taste very good !
Great coffee
Smooth, balanced, and so easy to drink. Love how mellow and sweet it is!
I always feel like something isn’t quite if I haven’t had a cup of Horsham coffee in the morning, I like the Bwishaza Washed from Rwanda. I used to frequent Bond Street coffee however since moving out of Sussex, I still order from Horsham online, always quick.
Really impressed with the quality of the beans Tried three different beans so far tasty and so fresh
Great coffee at reasonable prices. Quick delivery. Highly recommended.
I ground these beans with the new wilfa uniform grinder I bought at the same time. Eventually settling on a setting 12 on the grinder and 36g of beans in a 6 cup moka pot I am happy. There are chocolate notes too! When I have compared my budget friendly beans from Lidl I will know what contribution the grinder and the beans have to the taste.
I am a coffee fanatic, and find every different coffee I order consistently excellent, albeit expensive.
A smooth coffee with lots of chocolatey flavours roasted to effectively medium. Not as apple-y as I would have liked but a good drink all the same
Cooperative
Best coffee i have had in a long time. full of flavour either with or without milk.
Tried all methods and still finding it quite bitter, lacking body and flavour, would buy Nova over this for similar price
