A Speciality Coffee Roaster in the Heart of Sussex

Horsham Coffee Roaster began in 2012, initially roasting coffee from a garage and selling it at Horsham Market. A lot has changed since then, but our focus remains the same: sourcing outstanding, ethically traded coffees and roasting them with a rigorous approach to quality.

Today, our home is our working speciality coffee roastery in Burgess Hill. It’s where our small team roast, quality control, pack and dispatch the coffees that we send to customers and wholesale partners throughout the UK.

Being based in Mid Sussex also keeps us closely connected to the area where Horsham Coffee Roaster began. We’re within easy reach of Horsham, Brighton, Haywards Heath, Crawley and the wider Sussex area.

Visit Our Burgess Hill Roastery Café

Our roastery isn’t just where the coffee is roasted. It’s also home to our small coffee shop, open Monday to Friday from 9:30am until 4pm.

Drop in for a coffee prepared by our team and experience some of the coffees we’re currently roasting. We regularly rotate the coffees available, giving you the opportunity to try our blends and seasonal single origins before choosing a bag to take home.

You’ll also find a selection of freshly roasted coffee and home brewing equipment available to buy.

It’s a relaxed little space within our working roastery, so you can enjoy your coffee just a few metres from where it was roasted.

Collect Your Coffee Directly From the Roastery

Live locally? You can order your coffee through our website and collect it directly from our Burgess Hill roastery.

Simply choose our collection option when ordering online and we’ll prepare your order ready for you to pick up. Collections are available during our normal weekday opening hours.

It’s an easy option for customers in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Horsham and the surrounding area who would rather collect their coffee locally than have it delivered.

Barista Training in Burgess Hill

Want to make better coffee at home or develop your skills behind an espresso machine?

We run hands-on barista training courses at our Burgess Hill roastery, suitable for everyone from complete beginners and home coffee enthusiasts through to people working in cafés who want to improve their technique.

Rather than following a rigid syllabus, each session is tailored to your experience and what you’d most like to learn. A typical course can cover grinder setup and dialling in, espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, cupping and coffee tasting.

Courses last around 2.5 hours and take place within our working speciality coffee roastery using professional equipment and coffee sourced and roasted by our own team.

We’re conveniently located for anyone looking for barista training in Sussex, including those travelling from Horsham, Brighton, Crawley, Haywards Heath and the wider Mid Sussex area. Free parking is available on site.

We’ve supplied wholesale speciality coffee since 2012, working with independent cafés, restaurants, offices and other businesses across Sussex as well as partners throughout the UK.

For businesses closer to home, having your coffee roaster nearby has some obvious advantages. You’re able to build a relationship directly with the people sourcing and roasting your coffee, access training and equipment support, and work with a team that understands the local coffee community.

We can supply everything from reliable year-round espresso blends to rotating single origin coffees, alongside equipment, advice and barista training where required.

Supporting Our Local Sussex Community

Sussex is where Horsham Coffee Roaster started, and remaining part of the local community is important to us.

Alongside our wider environmental and producer-focused projects, we support several organisations and initiatives here in Sussex.

We have supported FareShare Sussex & Surrey since 2020, with donations linked to the sale of our Brazil Single Origin as well as our annual Christmas coffee. In 2025, our donations helped FareShare generate around 28,800 meals.

Closer to the roastery, we have committed to an annual £1,000 donation to Burgess Hill Pantry, part of the Your Local Pantry network and an organisation helping local people access good-quality, affordable food.

We also sponsor a local honeybee hive through The Adur Beekeeper, helping support honeybees facing pressures including habitat loss, climate change, pests and disease here in Sussex.

These sit alongside the other community, environmental and coffee-growing projects we’re able to support thanks to our customers.
