Freshly Roasted Specialty single origin coffee

Coffee Selection Boxes & Taster Packs

Our selection packs are the easiest way to try several of our coffees at once – four different 250g bags, freshly roasted to order at our Sussex roastery and delivered together in one box. Choose a pack of four blends if you want familiar, everyday coffee, or four single origins if you'd rather explore different farms, processing methods and origins side by side. Every pack can be ordered as whole bean or ground for your brew method.

Prefer to build your own? Any four coffees from our single origin collection come with the same discount.

Every coffee in our selection boxes is roasted on our Loring S35 at our Burgess Hill roastery and packed to order, so nothing sits on a shelf waiting for a box to be built. We work directly with producers in Rwanda, Kenya, Costa Rica and Brazil, and source the rest of our range through importers who share our approach to traceability and paying properly for quality. That means a selection pack isn't a mixed bag of anonymous coffee – you can trace every bag in the box back to a farm, co-operative or washing station.

How to choose a coffee selection box

Start with how you brew

If you're buying for an espresso machine, a pack of blends is usually the safer choice — they're built for consistency, body and sweetness, and they're forgiving if you're still dialling in. If you're brewing V60, AeroPress, Kalita, Moccamaster or cafetière, a single origin pack gives you even more to taste: clarity, acidity and the individual character of each coffee. Most of our single origins work well across both, and every product page lists our recommended brew methods.

Blends or single origins?

Our blends combine two or more coffees to hold a consistent flavour profile through the year – think chocolate, caramel and nutty sweetness, and a considerable step up from supermarket coffee. Single origins change with each harvest and each lot, so a single origin selection box is more of a tasting exercise: a washed Kenyan next to a natural Ethiopian will taste like two completely different drinks. If you're buying for someone who's already interested in coffee, the single origin pack tends to be the more interesting gift.

Whole bean or ground?

Whole bean and a grinder will always give you a better cup, because coffee starts losing aroma within minutes of grinding — it's the single easiest improvement most people can make at home. That said, we grind to order for any brew method, so if the recipient doesn't have a grinder yet, choose ground and specify the method. Read more on whole bean vs ground coffee.

Coffee selection boxes as a gift

A selection pack works well as a gift because it doesn't require the recipient to make a decision. Four coffees, four things to taste, and enough coffee to last a few weeks rather than a single cup's novelty.

  • For someone new to speciality coffee – a pack of four blends, ground for their machine.
  • For a keen home brewer – four single origins, whole bean, to taste side by side.
  • For Father's Day, birthdays and Christmas – pair a pack with a grinder or brewer from our equipment range.
  • For a longer gift – a coffee subscription sends a different coffee each month instead of all four at once.

Corporate and bulk gifting: we regularly supply coffee for client gifts, staff thank-yous and office kitchens, and we've been roasting for wholesale partners since 2012. If you need multiple packs sent to multiple addresses, or want something put together for a specific budget, get in touch and we'll help you work it out.

What's actually in the box

We only put coffee we're happy to cup into a selection pack — every lot is scrutinised through our own cupping and quality control process, and our co-founder Bradley is a licensed Arabica Q Grader. A growing share of the coffees you'll find in a pack are our relationship coffees: producers we know by name and buy from directly, with the prices we paid published in our annual Transparency Report.

Coffee selection box FAQs

What's in a coffee selection box?

Our Blend Selection and Single Origin Selection packs contains four different 250g bags of coffee. From time to time, we will offer special seasonal bundles or tasting packs, with the contents listed clearly. You can order the packs as whole bean, or ground for a specific brew method.

Which coffee selection pack should I choose?

If the coffee is going into an espresso machine or the recipient is fairly new to speciality coffee, choose the blend selection. If they brew filter – V60, AeroPress, Moccamaster, cafetière – or they're already interested in origins and processing methods, choose the single origin selection.

Can I choose which coffees are in the pack?

Our selection packs are put together by us so you get a spread of flavour profiles. If you'd rather pick your own, add any four coffees from our single origin collection to your basket and the same 10% discount applies.

Do you offer coffee selection boxes as gifts?

Yes – selection packs are one of our most popular gifts, and we can send them directly to the recipient.

Can you supply selection packs for corporate gifting?

Yes. We supply coffee for client gifts, staff gifts and offices, and we're happy to help with multi-address orders or a set budget. Contact us with what you need and we'll put something together.

Can I order a selection pack as ground coffee?

Yes. Choose ground and tell us your brew method – espresso, filter, cafetière or AeroPress – and we'll grind each bag accordingly. For the best flavour we'd still recommend whole bean and grinding fresh at home

How fresh is the coffee?

Every selection pack is packed to order at our Sussex roastery with fresh coffee. We don't hold pre-packed stock, and we suggest resting the coffee for around 10 days after roasting should it arrive before this time.

Will there be more selection packs?

We add packs and bundles through the year, particularly around gifting periods, so it's worth checking this collection or signing up to our emails to hear when new ones land.
