Dillions Vineyard

A small 15-acre vineyard producing small-batch, estate wines from 5 different varieties of grapes. Located next to Nymans National Trust, just 3.5 miles from where it all began at Horsham Coffee Roaster.

Why a Coffee Roaster Bought a Vineyard

Horsham Coffee Roaster has always been about more than just roasting and brewing fantastic coffee. For Amelia and me, the farming and growing side of coffee has been just as fascinating as what happens in the roastery, and that curiosity led us on a journey of several years to owning our own coffee farm in Costa Rica. Being involved in the farming and post production side of coffee showed us how much of a cup’s character is decided in the field. It also deepened our commitment to sustainability, from planting trees to protecting the nature around the crops we depend on. Taking on Dillions Vineyard, in the High Weald of West Sussex, felt like a natural next step: a chance to apply everything we’ve learned to something growing right on our doorstep.

Same Craft, Different Fruit

Coffee and wine have more in common than you might think. Both begin as fruit, and different varietals have different flavour profiles. A Geisha and a Caturra taste worlds apart, just as Bacchus and Pinot Noir each bring their own character to the glass.

What happens after harvest matters just as much, and the way coffee cherries are washed, fermented, and dried has a direct parallel to how grapes are pressed, fermented, and aged.

At Dillions, we take the same approach we use for coffee. We work in small batches, pay close attention to every decision, and share the details behind what we produce, so you can see exactly how each wine came to be.

Sussex Wine, Grown on Our Doorstep

Above all, Dillions is about sharing something we’re proud of with the people who already enjoy our coffee. Every bottle is made entirely from grapes grown on our own vineyard, just a few miles from our Burgess Hill roastery, so it travels a fraction of the distance of most wine on the shelf. If you love knowing where your coffee comes from, we think you’ll enjoy a Sussex wine with the same story behind it. Discover our small-batch English wines at Dillions Vineyard.

What we're aiming for

The 2026 harvest marks the start of an exciting new chapter at Dillions. We’re making two very different expressions of Bacchus this year: an unoaked wine that lets the grape’s fresh elderflower and citrus character shine, and an oaked version that adds texture and depth. On the red side, we’re trying two different post-harvest methods with our Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Caberet Noir. Much as we compare processing methods with our coffees, the plan is to see how each one shapes the finished wine. To begin, we have three incredible wines available to order.

Alongside our still wines, we will be releasing traditional method sparkling wines, which will spend years ageing before they’re ready. Behind all of this sits a commitment to working in harmony with nature. We want to farm in a way that respects and improves our soil, encourages the wildlife that shares the vineyard with us, and protects the Site of Special Scientific Interest at neighbouring Nymans, so that the land is in better health for every vintage that follows.
