  • About Workhorse Blend | Rwanda / Brazil

    Our Workhorse blend is built around the concept of consistency and reliability and combines our directly traded coffees from Rwanda and Brazil.

    The blend contains:

    Rwanda Liza washed 50%
    Brazil Inhame pulped natural 50%

    Workhorse is a light roast espresso and perfect if you like a bright, juicy, but well-balanced espresso. If you are looking for a traditional Italian style espresso take a look at our Nova Blend.

Liza

Liza washing station is owned by Jean Paul and produces coffee from his farm and around 500 local small hold producers. The washing station produces a wide range of coffees with their main focus on clean, juicy, bright washed coffees. They also produce a range of natural processed coffees specifically for us.

Inhame

Brazil Inhame is a small family farm with 28 hectares of coffee trees located near to the town of Campos Altos. The farm is owned by Marco Aurelio and is managed in partnership with his son Bruno (an agronomist).

Darker, not dark enough.

This is clearly a freshly roasted, high quality batch of beans.

Unfortunately, it is still not roasted dark enough to be drinkable without drowning it in milk. For an espresso, it is like drinking lemonade. The acidity is through the roof, and clearly still in the "specialty" coffee levels rather than that smooth classic Italian espresso.

Amazing and v reliable as the name suggests!

I’m always looking for nice beans I can use in my sage barista express and I don’t like having to faff with the settings too much. These as the workhorse name suggests are absolutely fantastic beans - they smell unreal - and also are extremely reliable and produce a great espresso even without me adjusting the machine too much. Fantastic and now one of my go to’s. I also like supporting smaller roasters coming from using a big name brand sold at supermarkets for years which recently let me down big time. Go Horsham! Thank you :)

The workhorse blend is delicious, easy to grind with my hand grinder and a smooth taste. I bought the 1kg pack as I live up north. A friend recommended Horsham and they do not disappoint - delicious coffee!

Always amazing coffee from Horsham Roasters

I've been getting 4 x 250g bags of coffee every month from Horsham Coffee Roasters. I have tried others but in my opinion nobody else comes close. I drink maybe 2-4 cups per day, some milk drinks, others just straight espresso and always enjoy the coffee more than others. Friends who are not as obsessive as I am comment on how much nicer the coffee is. Worth spending the extra, the quality and tastes is always there.

Fantastic Coffee and service

First time ordering direct from HCR.
Initially enquired about the blend they supply to Amici, but it was explained that I could only get that from Amici understandably. However, Dom recommended the Workhouse blend which he said was very similar, and it hasn’t disappointed.
Really pleased to support a local business, living locally in Billingshurst, so will certainly be back for more. Really fast delivery too.

Workhorse Blend - Fabulous value

Coffee can be so expensive and trying to find a good value bean that is actually really nice can be tricky. Horsham Coffee Roasters offer a large range of coffees with a wide range of prices but their Workhorse Blend is such good value. We drink this more often than any other coffee and never tire of it. Sure, we have other blends and single estate beans too, but The Workhorse is certainly our workhorse! Delicious!
