About Supernova | Costa Rica
Supernova is our newest concept created to sit alongside our Nova blend. A medium-dark roast profile perfect for espresso brewing or if you enjoy a more well developed filter roast. Roasted to tame acidity while enhancing body and sweetness.
This is a fantastic yellow honey-processed coffee from La Isla farm in the West Valley, Costa Rica. Over the past few years, they have won several cup of excellence awards.
La Isla is owned by Luis Padilla, who bought the farm in 2017. He was inspired by his grandfather, who owned a coffee farm for many years in the Naranjo region. The farm covers 10.5 hectares and is located at 1500 masl growing a mix of Villa Sarchi, Geisha and SL-28.
This coffee has been harvested from Villa Sarchi trees. After harvest the coffee was pulped to remove the outer layer of fruit and dried on raised. -

Coffee Origin
Costa Rica 🇨🇷
Costa Rican farmers are known for their tendency to experiment with various post harvest processing method and for planting rare and interesting coffees, such as SL-28 and Geisha. We've been buying our Costa Rican coffees direct from the same producers for several years with the help of Selva coffee.
Processing Method
Yellow Honey
The yellow honey process leaves approximately 50–75% of the mucilage on the bean. It is dried either in shade or direct sunlight and creates a coffee with medium body and the potential for some additional fruit character.
