  • About Ngugu-ini | Kenya

Ngugu-ini Factory is part of the Kibirigwi Cooperative Society established in 1958 and currently has 1200 members. This is a stunning AA extended ferment microlot. After delivery the cherry was pulped and dry fermented for 18 hours before being washed and graded in channels. The coffee was then moved to raised tables for sun drying.

We love the bright, distinctive tasting notes that include blackcurrant, rhubarb and brown sugar.

An enjoyable coffee

I really enjoy Kenyan coffee and this was not an exception. However, I did find to make coffee to my taste using a V60, the ratio was increased from the usual 60g/l to 65g/l. This gave a more intense taste to the coffee.

No "wow"

Nice coffee but without "wow". Little bitter, little acidic
