  • About La Karola Natural - Christmas Single Origin | Costa Rica

    Our Costa Rican coffees are sourced directly by us from several dedicated, small producers. We've selected this stunning microlot from our friends at La Karola to be featured as our Christmas single origin.

    Grown and harvested on a small 4 hectar farm. Cherry was hand harvested from Catuai varietal trees, floated in water to remove defects and laid to dry on raised tables under cover. All processing takes place on the family farm and they have full control of the product from tree to the finished dried cherry.

    This is a stunning natural processed coffee with tasting notes that include red grape, fig and dates.

The Mora family has owned the farm since 1960 and covers an area of 4 hectares in total split into different farm sections. We've been buying coffee from them since 2019 and love their dedication to producing fantastic natural processed coffees.

We've been buying our Costa Rican coffees direct from the same producers for several years with the help of Selva coffee.

I've been buying regularly from HCR for almost 4 years. Here are the top 3 reasons I believe it is worth sharing:

1. excellent coffees at the best prices for 1 kg single origin bag (approx. 30 euro); it's really hard (if not impossible) to find a competitor for the same quality/price ratio.

2. very good shipping services at relatively low, flat charge for the EU customers for +40 pounds order.

3. great customer care, answering questions or solving inherent issues that might appear.
