About Coffee Bird Decaf | Guatemala
Dreams is a decaf from several farms processed using the Sugar Cane method resulting in a sweet, balanced decaf. It’s a blend of Strictly Hard Bean lots from Antigua, Huehuetenango and Acatenango in Guatemala, made up of Bourbon, Caturra and Typica with a small touch of Gesha. All the lots are washed and dried on patios. It’s decaffeinated using the sugarcane process, where ethyl acetate derived from sugarcane gently lifts the caffeine out while keeping the beans’ natural sweetness and character intact. It’s a versatile coffee that works just as well in milk drinks as it does brewed as a filter.
Tasting notes include Toffee, milk chocolate and goji berries -

The Producer
Coffee Bird
Coffee Bird is a green coffee importer founded in 2011 by Marta Dalton, who left a career in finance to reconnect with her family’s coffee-growing roots in Guatemala. She wanted to change how coffee is traded, and her mother, Colomba, joined to help find great farmers in Guatemala.
Coffee Origin
Guatemala 🇬🇹
Guatemala produces a diverse range of coffees but is most well known for producing clean coffees with a great balance of flavour. Discover more about Guatemala's history, processing methods and flavours.
Processing Method
Washed
The washed process is the traditional method where the fruit is removed from the bean after harvest using water and de-pulpers. The coffee is sometimes fermented to break down remaining sugars before being washed in grading channels and then dried. This results in a “clean” cup that highlights the bean’s inherent origin characteristics and bright acidity.
Coffee Varietal
Mixed Varietals
This coffee may include several different coffee varietals. On many farms, multiple cultivars are grown side-by-side and harvested together. In other cases, a coffee may be composed of several components selected to create a balanced flavour profile. Each varietal contributes its own characteristics to the final cup.
