Finding great tasting organic decaf coffee can be challenging. Quite often these are produced using poor quality coffee that isn't traceable to farm or co-operative. We've managed to find a great tasting Swiss Water Decaf process organic coffee from a group of producers in Peru.

Producer Overview:

This coffee is grown and harvested by farmers who have an average farm size of about 20 hectares. Rather than processing their own coffee they deliver cherry to a local wet mill. The mill will sort and process this as washed coffee by pulping the cherry to first remove the fruit. After the outer layer of the fruit is removed the coffee is fermented then washed and dried.

All producers are organic certified.

Coffee is then sent for decaffeination by Swiss Water, a chemical-free decaffeination process that retains as much flavour as possible.

Tasting Notes:

Rich chocolate, nuts and gentle balanced fruit notes.

Brewing:

This coffee works well for all brew methods.

Filter: Dose 15g, water 250g.

Espresso: Dose 17 gram to 40 gram yield over about 30 seconds.

This coffee is available as wholebean and pre ground but we recommend always grinding fresh before brewing. We sell a range of grinders if you would like to grind this coffee fresh at home.

Delicious taster pack

We ordered the taster pack to try a few batches before we pick something larger next time… no idea how we are going to chose as they are all delicious. I love the packaging and branding too, will definitely buy from these guys again.

One of the best cups I’ve had...

I’ve been experimenting with a new grinder recently and the Sol y Cafe has produced some of the nicest cups I’ve made! My go to method uses the Aeropress 18g finely ground coffee / 240g water. I use the inverted method and plunge at one minute. Really nice chocolatey aroma before tasting it. As it becomes cool enough to drink it had a nice body and sweet flavours coming through, a cherry sweetness. As it cooled further it got sweeter still like sugar had been added. An amazing coffee and one that I will be buying again.

We’re not easily pleased - honest!

This is our new favourite. We were disappointed that our usual Kenyan coffee was not available, but true to form Horsham never disappoints. This has a slightly fuller depth and richness to the flavour and makes a perfect cup every time. We’re on our 2nd kilo now!

Makes my mornings that much better

I upgraded from a cheap blade grinder to this and the difference is night and day. Consistency is key when it comes to good coffee and until I got this I was making a completely different cup each morning. Now I really feel like I have control over my grind size and my coffee quality has improved massively.

Easy to use, easy to clean, well priced compared to others on the market, what's not to love?

Best so far

This is absolutely delicious , best coffee so far

Class grinder

I recently was looking for an electric grinder that would not be over expensive but better than the cheaper end models so after lots of reviews I managed to settle on the wilfa . I also watched a James Hoffmann YouTube video of this grinder and liked what he had to say . Now I’ve been using it a few weeks it’s superb and quite quiet and very quick at grinding 14g of beans in no time at all . Overall I expect it to last a long time as it’s well built and easy to clean
