Brazil is well know for producing coffees with a very distinct flavours profile that typically includes chocolate, nuts and gentle fruit notes with low acidity. Our coffees from Brazil are always fully traceable back to the farm and we look for speciality grade coffees that have been produced with care and consideration for the environment.

The agronomist Guy Carvalho bought Fazenda Paraiso in 1990. Passionate about coffee, Guy Carvalho’s approach is quality driven. In 1996 Fazenda Paraiso participated in Project Gourmet in Brazil, this project was in partnership with OIC to improve quality and introduce the process of Pulped Natural into this farm. This is now one of the most common processing methods in Brazil and is very similar to the honey process.

The farm is located in a traditional coffee-growing district of Cabo Verde, in a region that presents ideal conditions for coffee production, such as an average altitude of 950 meters and a climate with well defined seasons, low humidity and favourable temperatures. The farm has drying patios and produces both natural (dry-processed) and pulped natural coffee, using modern processing equipment.

Coffee was harvested during the peak of the season and pulped to remove the outer layer of the fruit. After pulping the coffee is laid our try dry on concrete patios and turned regularly to ensure even drying.

Tasting Notes:

We love the traditional flavour profile of this Brazilian coffee. It is clean with hazelnut, milk chocolate, and some gently dried fruit notes.

This coffee works well for all brew methods.

Filter: Dose 15g, water 250g.

Espresso: Dose 18 gram to 40 gram yield over about 30 seconds.

This coffee is available as whole bean and pre-ground but we recommend always grinding fresh before brewing. We sell a range of grinders if you would like to grind this coffee fresh at home.

Subscription Terms and conditions:

  • The subscription charge will be collected at the period of time specified when ordering (ie every 1,2,3 or 4 weeks)
  • Your subscription can be cancelled after the first 3 orders.
  • Farm or producer is subject to change and will always be a coffee from Brazil with similar taste profile.

Really agree with the positive reviews here, absolutely delicious. small bean, beautifully roasted, smells incredible opening the bag and grinding, brews lovely, light colour in the cup, clean taste, no bitterness, I kept putting cream in a jug with the intention of adding it but it doesn't need anything, it's superb on its own.
