Reducing our emissions and negative environmental impact has always been at the forefront of everything we do at Horsham Coffee Roaster. Until now all orders were sent out to customers in the UK using DPD or Royal Mail. Both of these large delivery companies have been working on ways to reduce emissions and offsetting emissions to try to mitigate CO2 emissions.
DPD offsets the emissions of all deliveries and we've been using a number of other methods to offset the emissions that we produce through the supply chain, roasting and delivery to our customers. We recently received our carbon neutral certification from Positive Planet and contributed to a range of offsetting programs approved for carbon-neutral certification. We also work with Greenspark on a program that plants trees and recovers plastic bottles from the sea.
Offsetting emissions is a fantastic start, but the ultimate goal is to reduce emissions whenever possible. So, we are very excited to now be able to offer actual zero-emissions delivery anywhere inside the M25 via our partners at Hived. They are a zero-emissions delivery company that uses a network of electric vans and bikes to transport packages to their depot in London for distribution to the end customer.
They offer zero-emissions delivery and can also deliver all packages on a next day delivery basis with a text message sent to customers giving a delivery window and flexible options to manage the delivery.
They plan to expand to other cities around the country, and we are thrilled to be able to offer genuine emission-free delivery inside the M25 region.
