  • About Rwanda Single Origin | Rwanda

Our coffees from Rwanda are directly traded with producers and we are able to offer full transparency and detailed information on these coffees. For more information on how we source coffees, take a look at our Transparency Report.

Coffee is delivered to the Liza washing station daily during the harvest period (February to June) by small-hold farmers. Usually, they deliver anything between 10 and 100kg, depending on the size of their farm.

After the delivery, coffee is floated in water. Defects tend to float, and the good-quality cherry will sink. After the flotation coffee is pulped to remove the fruit and then fermented dry in tanks for about 12 hrs

After fermentation, the coffee is washed to remove any remaining mucilage and is then moved to raised tables to dry.

Our Rwanda single origin is subject to change and usually comes from one of two producers, Bwishaza or Liza washing station.

Great Coffee

Great tasting beans, they were easy to dial in and make milky drinks. I picked up a few different varieties of beans and prefer the flavour profiles of more chocolatey beans such as the Nova and Brazil but nonetheless these are excellent as well.

Great coffee

Great coffee, with a nice balance between juicy-ness and body, love it as a straight shot 1:3 ratio @95c/ 7bar, or a flat white.and makes great iced americanos too.super nice. for the price its a 10/10.highly recommended

Not as good as the Bwishaza

Ordered this one as the Bwishaza I usually order was out of stock. It’s okay but not as nice as Bwishaza. Doesn’t have the same depth or body to it. I won’t be ordering this one again.
My machine is a Sage Barista impress. It’s dialled in with the correct dose and extraction rate- I run a double shot through it to make a flat white.

Pleasant but not my favourite

Now don’t get me wrong this is an outstanding coffee as expected from Horsham, I just found this not to my personal tastes. I prefer something bolder. It’s still accurately described and I could clearly pick up the described tasting notes
