Organic blend

Size: 250g
Grind: Whole Bean

Organic Coffee

Tasting Notes: Red berries, orange, chocolate with some nutty notes

Brewing: This coffee works well with all filter brewers and espresso machines. For filter we recommend a 1 - 16 brew ratio, and for espresso a 1 - 2 (2.1) brew ratio.

Filter: 15g - 250ml // Espresso: 18g - 36-38g

Our Organic coffee blend was released in 2019 and has now evolved into a year-round single-origin coffee that changes from time to time. Roasted to highlight sweet, chocolate notes making this a perfect coffee for espresso brewing or if you enjoy coffee with rich chocolate notes and good body. Great both with and without milk!

Honduras - Jose Medina

This coffee is organic certified and comes from a small farm owned by Jose Danilo Fuentes Medina. The farm is located in Las Casitas, Corquin.

Varietal –  Obata
Preparation – Washed
Location – Las Casitas, Corquin
Altitude – 1400 masl
Importer - Falcon Coffees

The farm covers just 1 hectare and is planted with the Obata varietal with full organic certification. Coffee is harvested by hand and delivered to a local micro-mill that takes care of the processing stage. The mill uses flotation to remove defects then pulps the coffee to remove the outer layer of fruit. The coffee is dry fermented overnight and washed a second time before drying on raised tables.

  • We recommending buying whole bean coffee and grinding before brewing. We also sell 250g bags pre-ground. 1kg bags are available as wholebean only.

HCR 'Organic Blend' - A Delectably Balanced Brew.

I don't think anyone could be offended by the flavour profile of Horsham Coffee Roaster's Organic Blend. Without knowing anything about the history or intention behind this blend, the outcome is a coffee that's on good terms with everyone.

It's balanced and dependable, and won't catch you out. If you desire a speciality coffee, but perhaps want to avoid the potential flavour surprises of an unwashed / natural bean or blend, then the Organic Blend is something you should try.

This blend turns up on time, answers your calls, pays its taxes, is on great terms with the in-laws, cares about its health, picks the children up from school, and will be there for you on your worst day. Personifying a little further, it's the friend you can invite into your home, and yet never feel compelled to keep them engaged in conversation or entertained because their physical company is more than enough. It won't cause you any anxiety when it takes 'mi casa es su casa' literally, and makes a sandwich for itself in your kitchen without intervention.

I've tried and enjoyed the Organic Blend multiple times as a filter coffee and espresso, and it's performed equally well in both domains. This is not a coffee that stands out because of some unique or unexpected characteristics. Rather, it's something that's more accurately described as a classic, serving both newcomers and veterans to the world of speciality coffee equally well.

No complaints from me, other than the fact that I need to order another bag.

Superb value

I bought my first bean to cup machine a year ago and have tasted a lot of coffee from a number of roasters in this time. I put this organic blend right up there in terms of value for money. If you like a medium to medium-dark roast then you won’t go wrong with this one. I enjoy it as an Americano and flat white. Highly recommend.
