Fareshare Sussex - Coffee fundraiser

 

We first started donating a percentage of our sales from certain coffees to FareShare Sussex & Surrey in 2020 and have been commited to helping them ever since.  

FareShare are a UK based charity dedicated to fighting hunger and tackling food waste. They receive surplus food that would likely go to waste and turn this into meals that can then be distributed to those in need.

We have chosen to support our local Sussex & Surrey branch of FareShare by donating 5% of sales of our Brazil Inhame to FareShare on a year round basis. We also fundraise via our Christmas single origin and Christmas blend.

The typical cost for FareShare to produce a meal is 23p. This means that the purchase of ever 250g bag of Brazil Inhame will fund 1.5 meals with a 1kg bag funding more than 5 meals!

We have put together the following log of our contributions for transparency:

2021 - £1702.31 producing about 6800 meals

2022 - £2879 producing about 11500 meals

2023 to date - £9281.74 producing about 37000 meals
