Based at our speciality coffee roastery in Burgess Hill, West Sussex — just 20 minutes from Brighton, 15 minutes from Horsham, and easy reach from Crawley, Haywards Heath and Mid Sussex — our barista training course is a hands-on, personal experience in the world of speciality coffee.
Whether you're a home enthusiast who wants to finally dial in that espresso, or a café professional looking to sharpen your technique, our courses are tailored entirely to you. No two sessions are the same, and you can expect 2.5 hours of in-depth coffee education.
What we cover
Every course is shaped around your goals and experience level, but typically includes:
- Setting up your grinder — understanding grind size, dose and how small adjustments make a big difference
- Espresso extraction — dialling in dose, weight and time for a consistently great shot
- Milk steaming — texture, temperature and the science behind silky microfoam
- Latte art — from your first pour to something you'll actually want to photograph
- Cupping and coffee tasting — how to identify flavour, evaluate quality, and develop your palate
Roastery-based, specialty-led
Your session takes place inside our working roastery — the same space where we roast coffee sourced directly from our producer partners in Rwanda, Costa Rica and beyond. You'll leave not just with better technique, but with a real understanding of where great coffee comes from and why it tastes the way it does.
