Peru - Clever and Damian OrganicHorsham Coffee Roaster

We've always loved the diversity of coffee produced in Peru and have managed to find a really stunning washed coffee from a small farm via our friends at Falcon Coffees.
This coffee comes from the Chirinos area located in the norther highlands; one of the 7 districts within San Ignacio, which lies in the Cajamarca region, bordering the Ecuadorian state of Zamora Chinchipe at its northern most boundary.
Damian Espinoza and Clever Acosta are brothers-in-law who both own farms in the Alto Pirias area of Chirinos. The Chirinos area has some of the best coffees in all of Peru, with its high altitude, good varieties and ideal growing conditions, coffees from this area have a very fruity and complex cup profile.
Damian grows Caturra, Catuai and Pache on his 4 hectare plot of land. Clever grows Caturra and Bourbon on his 3 hectare farm. The lot we have selected was produced from hand harvested Caturra cherry which were kept separate from the other varietals.
They have their own cupping lab located next to the farm so are able to QC their own coffee as well as being able to provide advice to other local farmers within the community.
Both farms are organic certified.
