Brazil is the worlds largest coffee producer and in 2014 the total production was around 2.7 million tons. To put this into perspective, Ethiopia, the largest producer in Africa produced about 400000 tons in the same year.
A large amount of the coffee produced in Brazil is low grade arabica or robusta. However, many farms focus on quality and Brazil exports a massive range of different flavour profiles. Most coffee is processed using the natural or pulped natural method resulting in nutty, chocolate flavours that many coffee drinkers love.
Fazenda Recanto is located in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. The farm is is inside a volcano that is no longer active. This means the trees benefit from amazing volcanic soil! They grow a wide range of varietals and we've selected a yellow catuai lot for this year. We were very impressed with the quality of samples from Recanto last year after the harvest and we are very pleased to finally be able to share this with you!Recanto is a large estate farm covering close to 300 hectares and is both Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certified.
- To preserve quality, we are only able to ship whole bean coffee. A selection of grinders are available to purchase online.
- Next working day dispatch on all coffee orders.
I’m a huge fan of the coffee. It got us through a week of intense recording at Middle Farm studios. It’s my go to!
I was sent 3 bags of Nicaraguan and I have had no reply to my email telling you this
