Brazil produces around 1/3 of the entire worldwide production of coffee. This ranges from low grade robusta to high cup scoring microlots. We've always loved coffee from Brazil and our favourite coffees tend to showcase nutty, chocolate notes with sweet gentle stone fruit flavours.

Guima is a brand of coffees that are produced in three different locations. Fazenda São Lourenço features a flat topography, typical of the savanna in Cerrado Mineiro, Fazenda Brasis is nestled among woodlands and Fazenda Santa Rita is in a valley full of Bourbons. Each place has its own terroir, which provides Guima with coffees from a very diverse sensorial profile.

Guima Café was established to produce high-quality coffees in an environment that holds a strong commitment to best practices and deep respect to the people and to their well-being. The farms have achieved the Climate Module criteria of Rainforest Alliance, which reinforces the Guima commitment to practices that are in line with climate change mitigation and adaptation. Climate-smart agriculture is able to improve profitability by reducing energy and water consumption, generating new
products from agricultural waste, and ensuring more efficient use of fertilizers. Guima is also UTZ certified.

The coffee plantations are distributed along 1,650 ha in Varjão de Minas, located over 1,000 meters a.s.l. making this a very large scale operation.

Guima dedicates 21% of its farm land to native vegetation, protecting the rich fauna and flora of Cerrado.

Tasting Notes:

We love the traditional flavour profile of this Brazilian coffee. It is clean with hazelnut, milk chocolate and some gently dried fruit notes.

Brewing:

This coffee works well for all brew methods.

Filter: Dose 15g, water 250g.

Espresso: Dose 18 gram to 40 gram yield over about 30 seconds.

This coffee is available as whole bean and pre-ground but we recommend always grinding fresh before brewing. We sell a range of grinders if you would like to grind this coffee fresh at home.
